Impasto oil painting on board of a single stem Poppy! One of a kind.
100% of proceeds from the sale of this painting will be donated to Care.org for the Ukraine Crisis Fund.
Impasto is a technique used in painting, where paint is laid on an area of the surface in very thick layers, usually thick enough that the brush or painting-knife strokes are visible. Because of the thick layers, the painting must dry for at least 6-12 months. In this Poppy Painting for Peace, I also mixed paint right on the canvas. Now dry, impasto provides texture; the paint appears to be coming out of the canvas.
The sides are bare, unpainted and show only the grain of the board. The depth of this board is 2" allowing it to really pop from the wall adding even more drama to an entrance, hallway or nook.
